Extensive measurements are essential for me to create remote made-to-measure pieces. Below are examples of the measurements I will need. It is best if you are able to take pictures of each measurement, you can do this by setting your phone up whilst you take your measurements and screenshotting each one. This is important as it allows me to put all of your measurements into perspective and ensure they are taken correctly as best I can. Not all of these measurements may be relevant to you, you will have been advised in correspondence which measurements I require. It is advisable to wear a thin top and no bra for taking measurements, as anything thick could throw off the measurements. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Bust

Full bust measurement around the fullest point

Waist

You should be able to feel where your waist can be easily ‘squashed’ in- this is where you take the measurement, usually just under the ribs.

Hips

Where your hip bones lay

Fullest point

Fullest point of the bum

Thigh

Stand comfortably, feet approximately hip width apart. This ensures that you will still have room to walk in a fitted skirt.

Corset Point Width

This is for my corsets such as La Dentelle and Modern Muse- I need to know how wide to have the points

Nipple to nipple

This helps to place the apex points

Underarm to waist

Measure from where you would like your bodice to sit under the arm, ensure it is at a comfortable place.

Shoulder seam to nipple

This is the middle of your shoulder to the nipple

Nipple to waist

Measure to where you took your waist measurement.

Waist to hip

Measure from the waist to where your hip bones lay

Hip to fullest point

Measure from the waist to where your hip bones lay

Fullest point to hem

Measure from the fullest point to where you would like your hem to sit

Waist to hem - Front

Measure from the waist to where you would like the front of your skirt to sit, the diagram is for a mini skirt, for a full length dress, it works the same way but please stand tall and do not bend.

Waist to hem- back

Measure from your waist to where you would like the back of your hem to sit.

Full length- Front

This is really useful for me to put the measurements in perspective. One full length shot, holding the measuring tape straight from the shoulder.

Full length- Back

Again, this helps put measurements into perspective. One full length shot holding the measuring tape from the neck at the back.

Full length- side

One full length shot holding the measuring tape from the underarm.

Neck to waist- back

This will be easiest to take a picture to do, use your hand to grip onto your waist to find the perfect point to measure to

Bicep, Elbow, Wrist & hand

Measure the circumference of your bicep, elbow, wrist & hand (hand is only necessary if you are looking for sleeves that go to the knuckle).

Bicep to end of sleeve

I will need one picture holding the measuring tape from the bicep to where you would like the end of the sleeve to sit. This allows me to put your measurements from above into perspective.
