Phoebe Crosby - Bespoke Wedding Dress Designer
I'm Phoebe, the designer and creative behind Phoebe Crosby Design. Based in the charming town of St. Ives, Cambridgeshire, I balance my role as a proud mother of four with my passion for bridal design. My love for all things creative has always guided me, drawing me toward the world of bridal fashion.
From luxurious fabrics to intricate details and embellishments, I find endless inspiration in the artistry of bridal design. Every gown I create is a reflection of that joy and passion.
Before discovering my love for design, I worked as a makeup artist for three years. It was during my maternity leave, while expecting our first child, that I first picked up a needle and thread (my mum helped me to make a baby skirt by hand - it was the cutest zebra print fabric!). What began as a simple hobby grew into a successful bespoke children’s clothing business. However, as my family grew, I chose to pause that chapter, a decision that led me to where I am today!

Why Bespoke Wedding Dresses?
My passion for bridal design was truly ignited when I began creating my own wedding dress. From the moment we got engaged, I knew I wanted to design and sew my gown. Although our wedding was postponed for five years due to the pandemic and the unfortunate closure of our original venue, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. This extra time allowed me to fully immerse myself in the process and refine my vision for the perfect dress.
I experimented with countless designs, sourcing fabrics and embellishments that matched my love for sparkle and drama. I envisioned a bold, dramatic skirt and a bodice adorned with delicate beaded lace. The straps were made from a pearl trim, adding a touch of elegance, and I hand-stitched butterflies onto the bodice, a personal touch that tied in beautifully with the flower girl dresses I had created for my two daughters.
I haven’t looked back since. During the process of creating my dress, I knew this was what I wanted to do for life. My goal is to give other brides the same joy I experienced—having a gown perfectly curated to their personality and unique vision.
